Lost by ChoiceExploring an alternate universe and loving every moment of it.
I finally did it. I’ve quit my job. I booked myself a flight out of Singapore and I went on that great big trip that everyone dreams about.
Let me tell you now, it wasn’t easy. It took a brave me to finally decide to take that leap; forget my financial woes and explore the world. Oh, well, at least explore South East Asia for the time being. I had 30 days to get my act together to plan a 30 day trip to 4 countries. I was so excited about the trip that I unknowingly convinced my two cousins to join my backpacking tour of South East Asia. We had the time of our lives.
Forget the tour sights. The goal was to spend at least 5-6 days in a place just walking and finding food where the locals are. Food has a very, very special place in my heart and this is what this trip will be focused on. The street food was just glorious. and cheap. That is, unless I start counting the number of meals I actually ate and beer bottles I emptied, then it’s not so cheap after all. 🙂
Here are a few snapshots of the places we visited. I’ll blog about each of them separately soon. Soon meaning when I’m not feeling too lazy. ;P Our route was Hanoi, Vietnam – Chiang Mai, Thailand – Vientiane, Laos – Luang Prabang, Laos – Bangkok, Thailand – Singapore – Maldives.
